Youths Digest, the organizers of the annual Campus Journalism Awards (CJA), has announced the finalists for the 2024 edition of the awards.
Since its inception in 2018, CJA has recognized outstanding achievements among Nigerian student journalists, attracting over 2,000 entries from across the nation. This year, the sixth edition of the awards received a total of 364 entries from more than 50 institutions.
The chairman of the screening committee, Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, noted in a statement on Sunday that following the call for nominations, the “Campus Magazine” category was dropped, resulting in a total of 12 categories for this year.
He explained that nominees in this category did not meet the required screening criteria, which include clarity, language, originality, relevance, and depth.
“The finalists listed scored high marks in the screening process. Selected finalists from the list will be invited to the main event in Abuja,” Mr. Lawal added.
The organizers will notify the finalists via email regarding further details of the award ceremony in Abuja.
